When we experience physical trauma, our bodies take a toll. We experience aches, pains, visible and describable symptoms. Many people don’t realize that emotional trauma can create physical issues, as well. Long lasting symptoms, too, if not addressed.
Whether it is physical or emotional, a shock to the natural order of your body’s healing system can result in interference and disruption with your overall health. Take a moment, just a quick one, and try and remember a sad event in your life that made you want to cry. What happens to your body physically?
For me, my chest tightens, the shoulders go stiff and rigid, and my stomach gets achy. If we do not acknowledge the pain and letting go of what the body is experiencing, if we hang on to and dwell on this phenomena, the body will experience an imbalance, a discord from ease. The body has no choice but to simply carry this around for you until you release it.
Throughout life, these un-released traumas and emotions create blockages in the body’s energy field. They can cause subtle or serious effects on our bodies. These blockages can cause distortion in the body’s memory of how to fix the damage. It is then less able to functional optimally and heal properly.
YOU can actually prevent these blockages from forming or growing BEFORE there is damage!
How you may ask? Here are some very helpful and UNIQUE tools that have come up while I intuitively provide healing sessions for my clients:
1. While you are experiencing any kind of drama or trauma, make sure to drink plenty of water (and with lemon if possible). Drama and trauma are toxic energy. Just imagine how your body responds to these types of situations. Quickly flush out as much of this toxic energy as possible! I had a client recently who started to store grief in his kidneys. The toxins were going in the right direction as far as how the body functions but were beginning to energetically get stuck in his organs. Water helps to flush out physical and energetic toxins through the kidneys.
2. You may have heard of journaling and considered perhaps this might help. But not exactly in the way THIS post intends. Writing it OUT of your body, releasing the energy in the form of words, allows you one way to let go and free yourself of that possible blockage.
3. Deep breathing exercises and consciously expelling the toxic energy, or emotion, is a powerful tool. Think of the emotion or event as a physical entity. Close your eyes and feel where it sits in your body. Then, Blow up, Out, and AWAY! You’ll have the visual release of it.
4. Write and burn it. Put some words or a person’s name on paper. Light a candle and in brief ceremony, burn the paper saying, “I release. I release. I release. Thank you.”
5. And, of course, since I am a Reiki Therapist, I highly recommend receiving energy healing during and/or after the dramas and trauma we face in our lives. The result of Reiki is the releasing and healing of energy blocks. If you are trained in the System of Reiki Healing, you can then give Reiki to yourself at all times and be more in control of your body’s natural healing abilities.
